EVERY MEMBER AGREEMENT

We're thrilled that you're a member of The Perch, the coolest shared work space in town. What makes The Perch so great? You do. The simple fact that we're a community sets The Perch apart from other shared offices and workspaces. How do we do that? We respect and look out for each other and our space. Here's how:

  1. The biggest benefit of membership is access to your fellow members. We encourage members to make connections, collaborate, share ideas, provide advice, and generally make cool stuff happen. While we encourage you to engage the services of other members, you may not spend your days directly soliciting other members.

  2. The Perch is, first and foremost, a place to work. While we want our community to be open, fun, and collaborative, we also want it to be professional. Members are responsible for finding a proper balance. Not every profession is a good fit for an open work space and The Perch reserves the right to terminate any membership.

  3. Every person using The Perch MUST be a paid member. Feel free to invite friends or guests for lunch, a meeting, or just to say hello. However, if your guest is going to be here for more than an hour or two we would ask that they pay for a Day Pass. Non-members can also use The Perch if they are meeting members for business-related meetings, events and seminars, or have purchased a Day Pass. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.

  4. The Perch key fobs are NOT transferable. Do not give your key fob to anyone else for any reason.

  5. We expect members to keep the common areas safe and tidy. Please wear a mask while moving through the building. Wash your dishes, label your food in the fridge, clean up spills, push your chair in, and wipe down work surfaces after you are finished using them.

  6. Caffeine is the lifeblood of The Perch. If you drink the last cup of coffee, please notify diner staff.

  7. Access to the conference room is an awesome benefit of a Perch membership. If you want to use a conference room, you must reserve it. Blocks are limited to 90 minutes. Please clean up after using a conference room, including crumbs from snacks, etc. If you re-arrange the furniture in the conference room, we expect that you will return it to the original set-up when you’re finished.

  8. The common areas are shared workspaces and meant to suit whatever work mode you happen to be in throughout the day. The main lounge area and wood tables are or more open, collaborative work while the other common areas are for quieter, more focused work.

  9. We like a little bit of noise—we’re not a library. Members are welcome to take phone calls (no speaker phones please), have conversations, and socialize while using their “indoor voices”. We advise all of our members to bring headphones with them to help with concentration or as a sign that they are focused on work and not to be interrupted. The phone rooms are a great place to take private calls.

  10. The Perch is a 24/7 facility for members. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t live here.

  11. You may not engage in any illegal or offensive activity in or immediately around the Building, including but not limited to drug use, illegal online activity, racial, sexual or other discrimination, sexual harassment, or smoking.

  12. Fees are collected in advance each month and are collected via recurring charges. Realizing you didn’t use The Perch one month will not result in us reversing charges. You can manage your subscription in the Customer Accounts page on the website.

  13. Neither The Perch nor its members will assume any liability to you with respect to your access to, participation in, use of The Perch, or any loss of information or other property resulting from such participation or use. Basically, if you leave stuff here and it disappears, we are not liable (but we will certainly look into how it happened, and work to prevent such losses). The Perch will not assume liability for damages or injuries to clients, guests, or other parties that members may invite to The Perch space.

  14. The north end door to the diner is alarmed after 5 pm. If you do not obey signage and open the door after 5 pm, an alarm will sound and the police will come. If we are charged for that visit, we will pass that fee on to you and you will assume the responsibility for paying it.

  15. Every member has the option to have a house account at Magpie to purchase food and beverages and you will be invoiced each month and prompt payment is expected. Delinquent accounts are grounds for membership termination. Alcohol purchased from Magpie must be consumed in the diner.

  16. Finally, our job is to manage this fantastic innovative community. Have questions, ideas, or suggestions? Need help connecting, catalyzing, and creating? Just let us know!
